Jackson made the announcement on December 5, 2024, via his social media channels, expressing gratitude to his family, coaches, teammates, and Razorback fans for their unwavering support throughout his collegiate career.
Jackson’s decision comes on the heels of a significant injury he sustained during a game against Missouri on November 30, 2024. In the second quarter, Jackson suffered an apparent head and neck injury while tackling Missouri running back Jamal Roberts. The impact caused his head to whip backward, leading to his collapse on the field.
He remained on the ground for several minutes before being carted off and transported to a nearby hospital. Fortunately, after evaluation, Jackson was released and returned to the locker room, with head coach Sam Pittman confirming that he was “doing well.”
