Nebraska Athletic Director Troy Dannen has been appointed to the College Football Playoff (CFP) Selection Committee, the CFP announced today. Dannen’s appointment brings a wealth of collegiate athletics leadership to the panel responsible for determining the four teams that will compete for the national championship.
Dannen, who took over as Nebraska’s AD in 2023, brings nearly two decades of administrative experience to the role. Prior to joining the Huskers, he served as athletic director at Tulane University and the University of Washington, where he played key roles in elevating athletic programs, hiring successful coaches, and overseeing multimillion-dollar facility upgrades.
“This is a tremendous honor,” Dannen said in a statement. “The College Football Playoff is the pinnacle of the sport, and I’m proud to represent Nebraska and the Big Ten as part of this process. I look forward to working with an outstanding group of committee members.”
Dannen’s selection underscores his national reputation and the trust placed in him by collegiate athletics leaders. Known for his strategic vision and commitment to student-athlete success, Dannen will help evaluate teams based on performance, strength of schedule, head-to-head results, and more as part of the committee’s rigorous weekly rankings process.
