COLLEGE STATION, Texas — In a major recruiting victory, Texas A&M has secured a commitment from the nation’s No. 1-ranked tight end, Mark Bowman, a 6-foot-6, 240-pound five-star prospect out of Buford, Georgia. Bowman’s decision ends a heated battle among several college football powerhouses, including Alabama, Georgia, and Ohio State.
Bowman made his announcement via social media Monday afternoon, donning an Aggies cap and declaring, “I’m headed to Aggieland.” The commitment marks a massive win for head coach Mike Elko and the Texas A&M recruiting staff, who prioritized Bowman as a cornerstone of their 2025 class.
Widely regarded for his rare blend of size, athleticism, and pass-catching ability, Bowman is expected to make an immediate impact in College Station. As a junior, he tallied 62 receptions for 945 yards and 13 touchdowns, earning All-American honors and solidifying his reputation as a game-changing offensive weapon.
Texas A&M beat out SEC rivals Alabama and Georgia, as well as Big Ten powerhouse Ohio State, all of whom had been pushing hard to land the elite prospect. Bowman praised the Aggies’ coaching staff and player development program, citing a strong connection with tight ends coach James Coley and excitement about the offensive vision.
