As the dust settled on the Tar Heels’ 2024–25 season, senior guard R.J. Davis stood tall among Carolina’s all-time greats. Over a storied five-year career, Davis amassed 2,725 points, making him the second-leading scorer in UNC history—and fourth in ACC annals .
A native of White Plains, NY, Davis arrived at Chapel Hill in 2020 after starring at Archbishop Stepinac High. He developed into a scoring machine: averaging 21.2 PPG as a senior, earning ACC Player of the Year, first-team All-American, and the prestigious Jerry West Award in 2024 .
In the 2024–25 season, Davis continued to shine, posting 17.2 points, 3.6 assists, and 3.4 rebounds per game across 37 contests . His sharpshooting was on display as he delivered a stunning 6-of-6 from deep in an NCAA Tournament win over San Diego State—becoming the only Carolina player to hit six threes perfectly in a tourney game
