
In a significant recruiting victory for the Arkansas Razorbacks, five-star point guard Darius Acuff Jr. has officially committed to play under head coach John Calipari, choosing Arkansas over powerhouse programs including Kansas and Michigan .
Acuff, a 6-foot-3, 180-pound standout from IMG Academy in Florida, is widely regarded as the top point guard in the 2025 recruiting class and ranks among the top five overall prospects nationally . His commitment marks a pivotal moment for Calipari, representing his first major high school recruit at Arkansas who wasn’t previously committed to him at Kentucky .
During his announcement ceremony in Highland Hills, Michigan, Acuff expressed his enthusiasm about joining the Razorbacks, highlighting his strong relationship with Coach Calipari and the program’s vision for his development . “Coach Calipari treats you like family,” Acuff noted. “He welcomed me in on my visit like he knew me already. It was a great visit overall…They like my aggressiveness. He says he likes how I am able to get downhill, my pace, and my attitude for the game. They see that I just love the game so much and I just want to win.”
