The Green Bay Packers have a bye week in Week 5 of the 2025 NFL season. While they won’t be taking the field, that doesn’t mean their players are staying out of the spotlight. One player making headlines is defensive back Keisean Nixon, a former kick returner who has transitioned into a full-time cornerback.
Nixon appeared to throw shade at some of the wide receivers he faced during the first four weeks of the season.
In a series of Instagram Stories, Nixon posted action photos of himself matched up against receivers George Pickens (Dallas Cowboys), Terry McLaurin (Washington Commanders), Jameson Williams (Detroit Lions), and Jerry Jeudy (Cleveland Browns) — each marked with a red “X.”
In Week 1, Nixon and the Packers limited Jameson Williams to just 23 receiving yards on four receptions from five targets. The following week, Terry McLaurin managed only 48 yards on five catches despite being targeted nine times. Jerry Jeudy fared even worse in Week 3, recording a mere 17 yards on one catch out of five targets.
George Pickens, however, had a far better outing against Green Bay’s defense. In a high-scoring 40-40 tie, the Cowboys receiver torched the Packers’ secondary for 134 yards and two touchdowns on eight catches from 11 targets — a performance that didn’t go unnoticed, especially in light of Nixon’s social media posts.
One fan commented, “Idk bro Pickens had almost 30 fantasy points 😂😭 and I have him but I’m a Packer fan lol.”
Another chimed in, “Luckily he doesn’t have to matchup with Nacua this season.”
Not all fans were buying into Nixon’s self-praise. One commenter pointed out, “Didn’t Pickens have over 100 yards and two touchdowns?” Another added, “I’m not sure he understands the meaning of ‘lockdown.’ Check GP3’s stats. And the game ended 40-40.”
Still, Nixon had plenty of supporters who appreciated his confidence and play so far this season.
“Keisean really keeping receipts like a hit list. Cornerbacks with confidence are a different breed,” one fan posted on X.
Another supporter highlighted his performance despite Pickens’ big game: “He really only allowed 64 yards and a 74.0 passer rating when targeted against the Cowboys. He’s done really well this season.”
